To mark the public opening of Atelier 27 and to celebrate the end of Ahmad Reshad and Gabriel-Noé Rosticher's residency, we invite you to discover our work through an exhibition centered on the theme of the trace, as an irresistibly ironic way of taking inventory.
The presence of a trace bears witness to an absence, leaving visible the passage of something that has slipped away from us, from our attention.
To speak of the trace is to present a murmur that is sometimes noisy, to make us attentive to this mute world, to make our visit a moment of deep listening. Sometimes forming a path to follow, it leads us irrevocably towards our own memory, playful and fleeting, urging us to confront it and try to make it persistent. As if desperately filling the void of the trace while paying it homage.
Between sound productions, installations, writings and silences, each of us lets intimate, personal and historical memories seep in. To use Pierre Nora's term, this is a place of memory, in the sense of a physical place or an object that acts as a container for memory. The whole issue is linked to our shared desire to create a space, a receptacle for these traces, these memories, in order to recreate a sensitive and memorial landscape, made perennial by its sudden materiality and the transmission we make of it.
